|Laurie's latest project is the websitel and iPad app, ArtSite.|
ArtSite combines a teaching Museum with a student Gallery and Portfolio to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a global view of history and civilization.
Log in from your computer, or download the free iPad App.
ArtSite starts off with over 200 Museum pages organized in 12 collections. Each page includes an image, description, and a few related project ideas.
Teachers can create an unlimited number of Museum pages filled with free images and descriptions downloaded from museum websites, organized by any number of Art collections. Add project suggestions to inspire students.
In the Gallery, students become curators of your own art collections. They explore the ArtSite Museum, choose a work of art, and then write their own description or they can create Gallery pages beginning with a new work of art.
The Portfolio gives students the opportunity to display their studio art and writing. Students can upload thier own art images or teachers can upload images for them. Students can also link Portfolios from different classes
At the end of each year, teachers can save the best Portfolio pages to share with new students. Teachers can also change the featured artwork on the Portfolio search page.
If the ArtBlog is activated, students can enter into a discussion the art on their Gallery and Portfolio pages. Teachers approve all comments before they are posted and can turn the blog on or off for each class.
Share worldwide art with ArtSearch, the ArtSite Internet search engine. It comes pre-loaded with a variety of worldwide museum websites and art resources. Teachers can add any number of web links organized by their choice of search titles.
